Clearly pink, this contemporary house style located in São Miguel, Azores, turned into a beautiful guesthouse. Designed by the Italian architecture practice Mezzo Atelier, this century-old home stands out for being in such a particular colour.
To make the most of this rustic stable, the team wanted for this stable conversion project to maintain the rustic style of the building. Transformed into an elegant and charming place, this guesthouse is truly a wonder.
Featuring new additions, this contemporary house design has now, new openings that were crafted to bring the space together. With natural stone walls, the architects used traditional whitened wood surfaces as well as ochre for the kitchen and interior shades in the bedroom decor.
To make the most of the house and to connect the two-story house, a wooden staircase leads upstairs to the common room. The old timber beams stand out against the bright white walls. The open floor plan design has a twist with the double height ceiling which gives an airy feeling to the space.
The custom furniture brings a subtle touch to the design. Allowing a laid-back atmosphere, the beauty of nature stands out in the interior decor. The contemporary lighting used in the kitchen is also a prominent fixture of the whole house.
